A supporter of Republican U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump reacts after she was surrounded and egged by demonstrators after a campaign rally in San Jose

You simply could not script a better plan to draw more supporters to Trump than to have hundreds of protestors waving the Mexican flag throwing eggs, punches, insults at Donald Trump supporters.  In fact, it’s such a powerful recruiting tool for Donald Trump that I wouldn’t put it past the Donald to run down outside the Home Depot and pick up some day laborers just to do so and then reap the benefit.  If these protestors are actually opposed to Donald Trump then they are simply the most foolish and ignorant human beings alive.  You are offended because Donald Trump says Mexico isn’t sending us their best and then on display for the entire world to see you act your worst.  Patriotic Americans who are on the fence about supporting Trump see men and women wearing American flags on one side being treated harshly by men and women sporting the flag of a foreign nation and then you wonder why Trump’s support has swelled?  If you are planning on bringing the Mexican Flag to a Trump rally, your time might be better spent shuttling Trump voters to the polls on election day because that is exactly what you are doing.

The United States of America

For those who have followed this blog for anytime you will know that I am decidedly anti-Trump and have pulled no punches along the way.  Despite being #NeverTrump, I went to a Trump rally just to learn and take in the experience and then this happened.  Outside the convention center were people screaming and waving the Mexican Flag and I thought to myself, “If you make me pick between America and Mexico I choose America.” What a dumb and silly protest.

I realize the protestors don’t like who has become the presumptive nominee, but neither do I for that matter.  But this is the process that has seen power peacefully change hands in this country for over 200 years.  Every single year, 50% of the country doesn’t get their guy and every single year we survive because it’s how we do things in America.

So when you are outside a Presidential rally waving a foreign flag how am I not to feel a little like you are a threat to my system?  This isn’t Cinco De Mayo or, actually I don’t know another that’s the one Mexican holiday I know.  This is an election for the President of the United States who will swear an oath to the constitution of the United States of America, not the sentiments or interests of a foreign nation.  I promise you can protest Trump’s immigration policy smartly, but only an idiot does it waving the Mexican Flag.

Don’t Go Back to Mexico

Now, before you start thinking that this is coming from some right-wing racist let me tell you explicitly that I don’t want you to go back to Mexico.  I’ve served in the Marines with some fantastic men from Mexico who came here with their families through both legal and illegal means and I’d die beside them anyday.  I’m actually remarkably soft on immigration and I don’t blame a single father who breaks immigration law in order to come to America and provide better for his family.  I am, however, a hawk on border security.  We should not build a wall because that’s stupid and won’t work, but I believe we should know the name of every person who crosses our border.  But on the humanity side, I don’t blame you for trying to jump the wall.

You are not a bad person because you want to come make good America money to send home to your family.  You are not a bad person for escaping cartel violence.  And to be honest, if you come here to work you are in fact a better person than the American citizen who refuses to do so and just reaps Government benefits.  Mexico is your homeland and I know you love it, but just across the Rio Grande is the richest nation on the face of the earth and who could blame you for pondering to come on over and take a dip.  You are just like Clark Griswold from National Lampoon vacation when he jumped in the pool to skinny dip with Christy Brinkley.  No, he shouldn’t have done it and it was wrong, but dang she was right there in the pool!

I don’t want you to go back to Mexico, but I do want you to come and live the American dream.  And that includes contentious and controversial elections because Americans are contentious and controversial by nature.  But by God, we are Americans.  I know a lot of millennial hipsters like to quote the virtue of modern multiculturalism but don’t fan the flames of a Patriotic American who knows what a blessing this nation is and will do ANYTHING to protect.

Stop Bringing the Mexican Flag A-Hole!

I have decided I don’t want Trump to be President either, but I also love America.  Why would you bring something as emotional as a foreign flag where you know thousands will be waving the American flag and ask America to choose with whom to empathize.  I don’t know how you arrived at the rally, but for some reason I’m thinking it’s on a remarkably short yellow bus. You can be proud of your Mexican heritage and I get that, but you are reinforcing the narrative that Donald Trump has pushed and if you continue to act as such he might be right.  Anyone waving the Mexican flag to protest a US Presidential election is in fact not Mexico’s best.  You are the male model who lights up a cigarette when you and your friends are haveing a fun and playful gasoline water fight.

That is you above and you are throwing gasoline on an already lit fire that is Donald Trump enthusiasm.  You have the right to wave a foreign flag in this country only because you are in this country.  Go ahead and try to pull that junk in Russia or China and let me know how it works out for you.  But your stupidity is so much that you have inadvertently turned this election into a choice between “making America great again” or “making Mexico great” and when Trump becomes President you will have yourself to blame.  If you believe that Mexico is sending some of your very best, as I personally believe in the average worker, then perhaps you could defeat Trump quicker if you simply acted like it.  I’m still #NeverTrump but congrats morons, thousands are no longer because they saw your worst on display.

  1. This is what they are, Understand that and we all learn. They are not for free speech if it doesn’t fit their agenda. This has been the democratic party since the 1960’s. Remember the anti-war protests then and in the Bush years but once the king of amerika took power it all went away. See them for what they are.

  2. Yeah, dude scares me a little too, but I’d be more afraid of Clinton. We all believe she is a lying POS. The current administration is very hands off about immigration. I could give some crazy examples.
